The ECE 2500 Homepage

Welcome. This is your official information source for Introduction to Digital Logic, a freshman-level engineering course, offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, currently serving approximately 70 students. In this course we examine engineering methods for designing digital logic circuits such as what is commonly found in computers and other kinds of digital hardware. ECE 2500 is a required course for students majoring in electrical engineering, computer systems engineering and computer science. Your instructor this fall is Dr. Dean Johnson, an Associate Professor in the Department.

This Week's Schedule: Nov 11 - 13

We are in the last two weeks of lectures before the second exam. This week in the lecture, we will be discussing State Machines. On Tuesday we will look at how to setup state diagrams and state tables for a state machine. On Thursday, we will begin looking at three state machine examples, including a counter that will be examined in this week's lab and a code sequence detector, which will be looked at in next week's lab.

This week in the zyBook, you will need to start working on the activities for "State Machines".

You will be having your tenth zyLab meeting (12th week overall), where you will be looking at Labs 9.8 on constructing a CPU and 10.10 on Simple State Machines.
